Richard McKay Conducts Estonian National Youth Symphony

Richard McKay was invited to conduct at the Järvi Summer Academy in Estonia, where he will work closely with Neeme and Paavo Järvi, among others, and conduct the Estonian National Youth Symphony Orchestra at the two-week Pärnu Music Festival. Festival repertoire is slated to include Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, orchestral work by Edvard Grieg, as well as contemporary works by living Estonian composers.

The Järvi Academy takes traditionally place in Tallinn and Pärnu in Estonia. Students will be selected to work with several orchestras and performing in the Pärnu Music Festival. Concert are held at several locations, such as Estonia Concert Hall in Tallinn and Pärnu Concert Hall, famous for its acoustics. The Academy collaborates closely with Pärnu Music Festival, a great oppertunity for students to meet many many colleagues, well-known international artists and Paavo Järvi’s high level festival orchestra.
