Richard McKay Works With Charlotte Symphony
Honored to be a Semifinalist for the position of Assistant Conductor for the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra in 2010, Richard McKay has now been engaged as a cover conductor for the Knight Sounds concert series. Repertoire includes the music of Richard Strauss, Astor Piazzola, Gabriel Faure, Franz List, Ernesto Lecuona, Johann Sebastian Bach, George Gershwin, John Adams, and others.
Founded in 1932, the Charlotte Symphony is the largest and most active professional performing arts organization in the central Carolinas, giving nearly 100 performances each season and reaching an annual attendance of 130,000 listeners. Internationally acclaimed conductor Christopher Warren-Green has served as Music Director since 2010. He also directs the London Chamber Orchestra and conducted for Prince William and Catherine Middleton’s wedding.
